African Religions And Cultural Centre

African Religions and Cultural Centre (AFRECC) is an institution dedicated to the study, preservation, and celebration of Africa’s vast religious traditions and cultural heritage.

A Place for

Our Way of Celebrating
African Heritage

“African religions, traditions and cultural practices have shaped the soul of the continent for centuries…” These practices offer profound wisdom, ethical guidance, and a connection to nature and the divine. At AFRECC, we honour this heritage by studying, preserving, and celebrating Africa’s spiritual and cultural diversity. “We aim to preserve and illuminate vital pieces of this rich legacy are being lost, forgotten or diluted with practices which were alien to Africa and Africans. AFRECC is therefore committed to engaging in conversations and amplifying discussions around Africa’s past (historic), present and future cultural and religious adaptations.”

These traditions are much more than history; they are living, breathing expressions of Africa’s identity. But, with every passing generation, something monumental is forgotten.

We Aim to Preserve and Illuminate Our Stories

At AFRECC, we are creating a global platform to document and share Africa’s spiritual traditions and cultural practices. We give life to these traditions in modern contexts through interdisciplinary research, community engagement, and education while keeping their authenticity intact.

We work to foster dialogue among scholars, students, and communities, providing resources such as archival materials, a comprehensive library, and collaborative programs. Our mission is to empower Africans globally to reconnect with their roots while sharing the beauty of these traditions with the world.
